US Mag : Well first off I would like to say it’s an honor to be in the presence of Da MoCity God and we all here at US Magazine are so excited that you took the time out to fly out here to New York to speak with us today. So first off, tell me how you feeling?

RKM Legend : I’m feeling good excited to be here and ready to do this interview.

US Mag : Ok, Well tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, etc. ??

RKM Legend : My name is RKM Legend but I also go by Da MoCity God, (a name given to me by the Mayor of Missouri City, TX Allen Owens) I am a signed musician to The Legendary Jam Down Records in Houston, Texas who were responsible for putting Lil Keke On Back in the 90’s. I just dropped my debut Mixtape called (Da MoCity God) which is Available Now on Itunes, Spotify, Tidal, My Mixtapez, and also a number of other places online. Just google my name and you will be amazed.

US Mag : We’ve been hearing a lot about you and your music from plenty people & we notice your starting to gain a lot of attention around Texas how does it feel ?

RKM Legend : It feels good, I see my fan base has greatly increased & I’m just happy that the fans are enjoying the music.

US Mag : At what point did you decided to become a recording artist ?

RKM Legend : Growing up I have always loved music I didn’t have a childhood like other kids you know so growing up music was very important to me as a person. I used to write poems for hours and hours nonstop in my room and then I would memorize them all, rehearse them until I knew all the words perfectly. And I started to take music serious in the fall of 2015 when I went to Regis University in Denver Colorado.

US Mag : Wow, Regis University I know for a fact is a very hard college to get in too. You must be really smart. What were your grades in Highschool if you don’t mind me asking?

RKM Legend : I made straight A’s and yes it is the top 10 hardest colleges in the United States.

US Mag : So my producers that you were speaking too earlier said that you have a new mixtape dropping in the beginning of 2017 called Hybrid which will be hosted by the top 2 DJ in Houston, Texas. Juiced Up, DJ NickTheQuick & WeThePartyX, DJ Fortiune. Can you speak alittle bit on the project & the meaning of its name?

RKM Legend : Man your producers are some snitches for real, but nah its all good. My next mixtape Hybrid, the reason why I decided to name it that was because of my two split personalities of living on both sides of the tracks, the hood & the suburbs & also my ability to combined the art of sing and rapping together and this mixtape hands down will be my best work to date. And Shout to my family at JuiceUp and WeThePartyX its nothing but love on this side.

US Mag : Why is Missouri City TX also known as Mo City referred to as the “13”

RKM Legend : Because of our new area code, 346. 3+4+6= 13

US Mag : Ok Now let talk about the real stuff that the people wanna know. Do you have really have beef with Trill Sammy? And if Yes Where did it all starts?

RKM Legend : That’s a question you have to ask him, but yeah shout out to his DJ tho, DJ TurnUp I got some big stuff with him coming soon. But yeah Trill Sammy It started when I posted a picture on my Twitter page of a screenshot of some guy kinda dissing me on the low on instagram on one of my post or whatever saying im a ok artist but dice soho and trill sammy is the real hitters in Houston. Trill Sammy liked the post on twitter and Dice Didn’t, then two days later I heard Trill Sammy Called up to 979 the box which is a popular hiphop radio station in Houston, TX and sneak dissed me. That’s how it all started. But I mean I aint worried about that shit im getting this paper making big moves so my team and family can eat. Period. Plus my bloodline in Houston is crazy.

US Mag : Bloodline? What do you mean?

RKM Legend : Just like I said my bloodline in Houston is crazy im DJ Screw Lil Cousin so nothing happens in the H without me knowing. Nothing. So if your going to diss me, diss me directly. Or don’t say nothing at all.

US Mag : Wow I didn’t know that at all after this interview TMZ might be all over this story. But are you afraid of what might happen because of this beef?

RKM Legend : No, im not afraid because im better than him. And That’s not a diss either that’s just the truth. But until he officially say’s my name there’s no beef and I wish him and his whole team much love & success.

US Mag : OK so let’s talk OVO and Drake. My people here at US Magazine spoke with Drake directly before you came and he informed us you two are talking business. Is that true?

RKM Legend : I cant speak on that. But yeah drake is family. And I’m excited about the future. That’s all I will say.

US Mag : Ok nice. Jam Down Records tell me how you got signed to them?

RKM Legend : I was doing a show and the CEO “Slab” walked over to me and asked me if I wanted to join the team. And that’s how it happen. We on the way to the top.

US Mag : Cool, RKM Legend who are your musical inspirations?

RKM Legend : Without a doubt Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Drake, Chief Keef, Michael Jackson, & Tupac.

US Mag : If you don’t mind but why did you say Chief Keef? No Offence

RKM Legend : I respect his music & his hardwork. He really brings the right energy to his songs. And I respect that.
