Interview with Carolyn P. Hartley | Author of Redemption: One Woman’s Dream to Overcome Oppression, Find Family, Love and Forgiveness

US Mag Club: Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, education, writing passion etc. ??

First, thank you for featuring my book on your blog.

My fiction comes from the stories of great family heroes. I researched families emerging from America’s Great Depression. That’s where I believe courageous and innovative women started coming into their own. The main character in the trilogy, Adele Christina Dawson, deals with seemingly insurmountable poverty and bitterness to lift her family to a new place.

Degrees: Education and Masters of Liberal Arts (emphasis in medical anthropology.)

US Mag Club: We been hearing a lot about you so we notice your starting to gain a lot of attention how does it feel?

While it may seem like an overnight success, my storytelling career spans 30 years. So, it feels incredibly heartwarming to learn that readers are compassionate about the main characters.

US Mag Club: Great, Can you please tell us more about your book “Redemption“??

Redemption is the story of a young woman, born into wealth, but loses it all when her father dies in a suspicious accident, and her mother unknowingly remarries a con artist. Adele dreams of finding her birth family but first must win over a narcissistic impoverished step father. She takes on land grabbers who drained swampland to create highly fertile crop land, now affordable only by corporations and rich speculators. But when levees fail, more than a million homes are buried in an epic catastrophe as science, politics, race, honor, and high society clash.
