Interview with Jarrod Allen_www.usmag.club

US Mag : Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, education etc. ??

I grew up in Florida, Jacksonville to be specific but this is where I learned all my life skills. My parents are both musicians so I grew up in a very musical household, my father is a guitarist and my mother is a vocalist so I grew up with hearing all different styles.I attended Douglas Anderson School of The Arts, which is a Grammy award winning High School that tons of great musicians came out of and left their mark. Going there I knew right away I wanted to leave my mark as well, I became obsessed with jazz and practicing so I dug into the books and the great records. I had a great group of musicians I got to play with that made me better but it wasn’t until I lost a lot of my relationships at school that I started song writing.

US Mag : Please tell us about your upcoming track ?

I am very excited about “Friend Zone” I think is has a great new fresh and original sound to it that makes it stand out. My manager and sometimes Producer Johnny Vieira did a killer job with the production on the song and turned it into something completely different than we had before, so I am very exhilarated to have it be released.

US Mag : What motivates you to do your best work as an artist ?

I am lucky that I get inspired by almost anything so if I hear something I love or want to do, I practice the hell out of it. I love the idea of taking something you don’t know and a few hours after practice it starts to becomes your own, I love the process.

US Mag : We see you are multi talented, what genre do you enjoy most ?

I really love it all but my roots come from a jazz/blues base, so that is what is dear to my heart. And I love Pop music as well.

US Mag : Who are your musical inspirations ?

Everyone from Mozart, Miles Davis, Bob Dylan and John Mayer. The list goes on and on.

US Mag : Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to be a professional music artist ?

Follow what is in you’re heart and never fall into the trap of believing someone who tells you, you aren’t worth anything. God gives us all a drive to something greater than us or something we love, so never let anyone stop you from doing what is in his plan. It’s a tough road but the struggle is what makes you the best. Also be surrounded with a team that believes in you. Johnny Vieira Management has been there for me every step of the way.

US Mag : What are your future plans? Your vision for the coming years.

My plan has been the same since I knew I wanted to make music full time and that is to make music for as many people possible. I want to be able to transcend my music and take my fans to a different world and to just make them feel something other than this painful world all the time. I want to be a role model for everyone who knows me, even if they don’t listen to my music I want them to know that I’m still there for them.

US Mag : If you could work with any artist in the world, who would it have to be ?

My top two would be Ed Sheeran and John Mayer, just because I cant pick with just one.

US Mag : Everybody needs time out. What do you do in your free time ?

My favorite thing to do is go on a hike and listen to a new album, I try to do this every week to just clear my head and get back into the right mindset for the week.

US Mag : Are you active on social media? What’s the best way to follow you ?
