The consequences of the problem of poverty have a farwider reach than just a lack of income. It leads to limited access to every human’s basic necessities, hunger, malnutrition, and morbidity. Moreover, poverty contributes to limited access to education and other basic services.
The problem is more prominent than ever in Africa as the continent has 28 of the poorest countries worldwide. One-fifth of Africa’s population today is considered malnourished. This situation affects children the most. At the moment, it is estimated that more than 50 million orphaned children are surviving on the continent, while 3,000 children die from malaria daily.
AfrikRising addresses the problem of poverty and has committed to providing assistance to the most vulnerable.
