Meet the famous R&B Singer/Songwriter J-Hen, who is talking about his new album “On To The Next”
US Mag : Please introduce yourself to the readers and Who or what inspired you to get into this profession?
Hi, my names is James Henry Jr. and I go by J-Hen. I was inspired to get into the music profession from listening to a lot of great artists growing up. Plus both my parents were into music one way or another up as well.
US Mag : We been hearing a lot about you, and your music, so we notice your starting to gain a lot of attention how does it feel?
It feels awesome! I’ve been waiting on this day for a while. It’s exhilarating. I always knew it would come just didn’t know when.
US Mag : What is your perception on originality in making music?
It’s like my grandmother’s sweet potato recipe she passed it down to my mother, who in turn passed it down to my sister. So to say with music, the original was with Michael Jackson everybody uses Michael Jackson’s music and puts their on spin on it. My perception on originality is just try to stay true to yourself when making music.
US Mag : What are you working on now and where do you feel your music is headed?
Right now I’m working on my new album that is coming out in January 2017, as well as a tour to introduce my new album “On To The Next”, I have a feature part as an artist trying to make it in music in a movie call “Caught Up” coming out by Sharon’s Revelatory Productions, as well as performing on the 2017 The Experience Factor Cruise on Carnival Cruise Ship Freedom of the Seas on June 10th.

US Mag : We love your Single “On To The Next”, Was this single inspired by a relationship ?
Yes. As well as some heartbreak, life lessons, growing up and maturing all inspired “On To The Next.”
US Mag : If you could perform anywhere, in the world, where would it have to be?
Madison Square Garden. It’s like the pinnacle of your career to sing there.
US Mag : Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years ?
In the next 5 years, I see myself having success as a music artist and helping and giving back to my family and community.
US Mag : Everybody needs time out. What do you do in your free time?
In my free time I like to get a run in and also watch a good movie.
